Word Order

Well, today we're going to learn the word order of Arka.
In English, nouns come after adjectives like "black cat," but in Arka, you have to say it like "cat black."

You mean... like French? "Black cat" is "chat noir" in French. The adjective "noir" follows the noun "cat."
In Arka, "ket (cat) ver (black)" is right, isn't it?
It means adjectives come after nouns. OK, I got it. How do you make sentences, then?

As you do in English.
For example, when you want to say "Shion sees Lein," you have to put the words like "Shion" + "see" + "Lein". You know, it's "subject" + "verb" + "object."
To see is "in" in Arka, so when you want to say "Shion sees Lein," you need to say "xion in lein."

OK, it's SVO, isn't it?
Arka is like Chinese and English on this point.

Here's a question.
What do you have to say when you want to mean "A big dog sees a small cat."?
WORDS: big = kai, small = lis, dog = oma, cat = ket, see = in

Adjectives come after nouns, so "big dog" is "oma kai" and "small cat" is "ket lis."
The word order is SVO, so...
"Oma kai in ket lis," maybe?

Great!
Hey, you've made a sentence of Arka :-D
OK, let's go through another question before we're done today.
To give is "fit" in Arka, and an apple is "miik". So, what do you say when you want to mean "Lein gives an apple to Shion"?

Arka is subject-verb-object, so "lein fit miik."
Wait, how do you say "to Shion"?

We use "a" when reffering to the destination.
"A xion" makes "to Shion". Combine the two phrases you made.

"A xion" is like the English phrase, "to Shion". "A" looks like a preposition.
So the answer is "lein fit miik a xion," isn't it?
Wow, it's a bit long sentence. I knew nothing about Arka at first, but now I can write a short sentence.
How do you express "saw" or "gave," Lein?

I'll teach you the tense of Arka next time. Doova ([doːva] (see you later)) !
