How to Read Dic.

soonoyun, it's the second lesson of Lein's Lesson 2. Let's translate Arka easily with Diaklel.

Ordinarily aav is made of metal. Chains are used to make necklaces. Don't forget chains that show a forbidden area.

Here. ［noun］ and ［verb］ are the parts of speech, right?
"aav" means "chain." It means "to keep sth on a chain" when it's used as a verb.
What does "[metaphor] linkage" mean?



Um... I'm here because you're my friend.
The linkage between us is friendship and "aav" means it figuratively.
Basically, the word meanings are arranged from most frequent or most fundamental to least freaquent or least fundamental.
So, the word meaning "linkage" is placed lower on the list.



The dictionary is useful and handy.
And what are the following two lines; "rd;raavyu,lsl.xik" and "13:raavyu (chain) from Old Arka"?



It's the section of etymology.
You'll come to know how and when the word you searched was made.



We'll explain it to you in another time because it's too difficult to understand now.
The following line, "raabyu:raavyu:kolett," is the section of foreign words.
They are "fiilia-filveeyu," "lyudia-arbazard" and "siizia-lutia."



But I believe you don't understand what they are.
The former two are the ancient languages which are the basis of Arka. And the language of Lutia had a great influence on that of Arbazard.
"A chain" is called "aav" in Arka, while it is called "kolett" in the language of Lutia. You might be able to utilize this knowledge some day.



I see. The following section is ［culture］. I like it. It's interesting.
And there're "idiom" and "example" left.



［diction］ comes before ［culture］ in not a few words.
You'll come to understand how to use the word if you read ［diction］. You know, like the scope of the noun and the collocation of the word.



Hmm... the section of etymology and foreign words is the border line between the section of parts of speech and that of ［diction］, ［culture］ and so on.
The dictionary is easy to read because it forms an orderly sections. And it's eye-friendly because the sentences are short with many line breaks.
